Did you know...
...that South Pass City State Historic Site boast nearly 5 miles of hiking trails!
The trail system is broken into three groups. The Flood & Hindle Trail takes you through willows & pine to some very unusual parts of SPC's history. The Mohamet Group Trail is named after a group of mining claims owned by the Federal Mining Company & leads you to Altoris Gulch a seldom seen part of the historic site. Finally the Hermit Creek Trail takes you to the extraordinary English Tunnel through sage & pine.
Signs along the way tell the story of South Pass City & the miners that worked these hills.
These trails range from easy to moderately strenuous.
